Other than season passes, which are still on sale at most areas at bargain prices, the best lift ticket deal we can find right now is the “Ski NH Anywhere Anytime” ticket packages.

These are discount tickets (about a 20% average savings), fully transferable good for any time, including weekends and holidays. Deals on weekend and holiday lift tickets are usually about as common as snow in July . . .

You have to buy a total of 12 tickets for at least two of the member areas of Ski NH. This is a great way to get out on the slopes with your whole family, a group of friends from work or whoever. Again, the tickets are fully transferable—anyone can use them any time during the season.

For complete info go to www.skinh.com/anywhereanytime.cfm, or call 1-800-88SKINH.

If you live near or pass through the Berkshires, Ski Butternut (413-528-2000;) in Great Barrington, Mass. is offereing an incredible early-season deal for first-time skiers and snowboarders. From opening day (projected for November 27) through December 22, a beginner ski or snowboard package lesson, rentals and beginner area lift ticket (four carpet lifts) is only $25.

Shawnee Peak (207-647-8444) in Bridgton, Maine is having their “Annual October Lift Ticket Sale.” Buy a pair of fully transferable, any time lift tickets on line any time through October 31 for $85/pair! That’s $10.50 off each ticket.

Okemo Mountain Resort, (1-800-786-5366) in Ludlow, Vermont is offering a direct to lift “Sunday Only” season pass for $359 (it was $299 before October 12—keep that in mind for next year). It has four blackout dates but is otherwise good for every Sunday of the season. Assuming you ski 15 Sundays, that’s $24 per day of skiing. Great deal!
