Mount Sunapee in Newbury, NH (603-763-2356) opens tomorrow, helped along by a little snowfall over the weekend. It’s beginning to look a lot like winter in New Hampshire, despite the unseasonably mild weather recently, and the good snowmakers at Sunapee have managed to blow enough snow to open Upper and Lower Blast Off for top-to-bottom skiing! The Sunapee Express high-speed quad will be operating.

Sunapee is a fun mountain, overlooking lovely Lake Sunapee, a quick jaunt for snowlovers from Southern New Hampshire, Massachusetts and even Connecticut. I plan to shoot up to catch my first runs of the season tomorrow, because I can’t wait for the weekend.  See you there!

Lift tickets are a great deal at early season discounts; $40 for adults, $30 for young adults and seniors and only $24 dollars for the kids.

Sunday, December 13 is the first of two Cares and Shares days at Mount Sunapee. Bring five or more non-perishable items to the ticket window and ski or ride for only $30 dollars; the food items will be donated to local families and shelters for the holidays.  Do good for others, and for yourself at the same time!

More terrain is expected to be open by Saturday, and we will keep you posted. Check back tomorrow for photos from the opening day!
